Chris Huston

Before taking the reins at Rice University, head coach Chris Huston was the inaugural coach of the University of Houston women's soccer program. Her immediate success with the Cougars earned Huston coach of the year honors from Soccer Buzz Magazine. Prior to collegiate coaching Huston spent four years coaching successful club teams throughout Texas. In 1994-95, Huston coached the Dallas D'Feeters Soccer Club and was an Olympic Development Program coach for the under-14 age group for both north and south Texas. During the next three years, Huston?s coaching career brought her back to Houston where she was at the helm of the Challenge Soccer Club. Her knowledge of the sport, dedicated work ethic, and optimism for success have tabbed her as one of the most successful young soccer coaches in the nation. She has worked with NCAA coaches to place athletes in collegiate programs and has helped develop nationally recognized players. Her extensive soccer background and experience have served her well as a counselor for soccer camps throughout the U.S., including the Houston Cougar Soccer Camp, Clemson Soccer Camps, University of North Carolina Camps and now the Rice Owl Soccer Academy.
